Redwood viscometer apparatus are widely used in Petroleum Laboratories, Industries, Oil Refineries, Educational Institutions, Research Organisations for standerdisation and determines the Viscosity of Petroleum products, which flows in a newtonian liquid except cut back Bitumens and road oils at the set temperature, They confirm to requirement of IP 70. Two adaption of Redwood Viscometers are available. Redwood Viscometers No. I for liquids having Redwood Flow 20 seconds to 2000 Seconds and Redwood Viscometers No. II exceeds 2000 seconds. The complete outfit comprises hemmertone finish, copper/Stainless steel bath with drain plug, electrical heating arrangement, Suitable to operate at 220 Volts 50 Hz AC mains Or gas heating arrangement with silver plated oil cup with precision stainless steel jet, ball value, cover, thermometer clip, stirrer and suitable stand with levelling screws. The sample required to be tested, is to fill in to the required level as indicated by the gauge in a cup having a Stainless Steel jet fixed in the bottom. The temperature is maintained during the test by heating the liquid in a bath surrounding the cup, and the flow time for 50 ml of the sample is measured.

This Viscometer bath is used to maintain the correct constant temperature for estimating Kinematic Viscosity of Oil and Petroleum Products in this type of bath various viscometers may be fixed as an internal part of the bath. The bath is rectangular shape.Inside tank is made of Stainless Steel Sheet. Two sides toughed glass window provided for full visibility of objects inside the bath. The bath is controlled by an electronic relay and contact Thermometer Or Digital Temperature controller cum indicator.Temperature range 50C above room temperature to 1000C. Accuracy plus minus 0.10C. Stirring is done by a FHP electric motor stirrer.Heating is done by means of tubuler type heater fitted on top of the bath.It is supplied with viscometer tube holders and stainless steel cover. Different size & accomodation are available as under without Viscometer tube.

Used for determining the Viscosity of fuel oil and lubricating oil both thin & thick. The apparatus consists of Stainless Steel bath with oil cup which is centrally placed in a water bath. The bath has a lid which contains a water cooling tube, two handle with two stirrer blades, thermometer socket and a straight heater, stirring is done by turntable arrangement. A thermometer can also be inserted into the cup cover. The jets one universal and one Furol can be screwed to the cup by a handle(without strainer, withdrawal tube and glasswares). can operate on 220 Volts AC mains.

Used for determining of the closed cup Flash point of Petroleum Products,their mixtures,others liquids & Paints having Flash Point below 700C. The apparatus consists of one brass cup and cover fitted with shutter mechanism test flame arrangement(Oil test jet or Gas test jet) and stirrer, placed on a water bath made of copper sheet double walled. The outer jecket of the water bath is fitted with a stand. For electrically heated apparatus, heater is fitted to the stand the heat of which may be controlled different temperature regulation system of operated on 220 Volts AC mains. For Gas heated model the drum is heated by a burner. (without burner).

PENSKY MARTENS FLASH POINT APPARATUS

This is widely used for determination of closed cup Flash Point of Fuel Oil, cut back asphalts, other viscous material and suspension of solids having a flash point about 490C(1200F).The apparatus serve the purpose according to IP 34, ASTM-D-93-58T, IS-1448(P:I) 1960(P:21) and IS 1209/1958 method B. The apparatus consists of Brass Test cup with handle removable cup cover with spring operated rotating shutter having piolet jet, stirrer with flexible shaft. The assembly rests in Air Bath which is covered with Dome shape metal top. The cup is fitted with insulated handle and locking arrangement near cup plange. The assembly rests on a round shaped heater with different temperature regulation system suitable for operation on 220 Volts AC mains.

The appartus is used for determination of Flash Point & Fire Point of Petrolrum products except fuel oil with open flash 800C as per specification IP 36/57, IS 1448(P:69) 1969 and ASTM-D-92-67. The apparatus consists of a cup heating plate to specific dimensions thermometer clip and test flame attachment with swivel joint for passing over liquid surface in the prescribed manner, heater is controlled by means of different types of regulators fitted to the apparatus suitable for operation on 220 Volts AC mains.

This is made as a specified by IP-15, ASTM-D-97/57 & IS-1448-1970 the pour point is the lowest tempertaure at which the oil will just fail to flow. The apparatus consists of a main cooling bath made of stainless steel sheet and stand unit with drain plug and cover with provision for fitting thermometer and a filling aperture for adding freezing mixture. A glass jar for containing oils, jacket, disc and gasket as specified are also provided.

This apparatus is used for penetration test on a wide variety of materials such as grease, Petroleum, Bitumen, Tar, Wax, Polish, food stuff, Rubber asphalts and pharmaceuticals Creams. A given force is applied over a given of a millimeter and expressed as penetration. It consists of a head support mounted on a vertical rod which can be adjusted for height. A rack and pinion and pointer assembly provides fine adjustment of a needle tip to sample and incorporates a slipping clutch mechanism which make reading of Penetration and subsequent resetting of a sample and accurate operation. The dial is graduated from 0-400 in on tenth millimeter Sub Division. The instrument is supplied with two samples containers made of aluminium. The penetration is the distance in millimeter that a standard needle penetrates vertically into a sample of the material under fixed conditions of loading time and temperature. This instrument measures the reading on round dial fitted on a Aluminium Painted stand having adjustable penetration needle, holder sample container and transfer dish.

It is used for determination of heat of combustion , calorific value and sulphur contents of solid and liquid fuels. The Bomb body and lid are machined from corrosion resisting stainless steel rod . It's capacity is approx .300ml .It is provided with high pressure valve and electrodes. The calorimeter vassel and electrodes. The calorimeter vassel /stirrer FHP motor are provided and water jacket as per IP. The Bomb calorimeter is supplied with firing unit ,Digital /Glass Beckman Thermometer, Pallet press ,ignition Nichrome wire and pressure gauge with copper pipe fitting .

Used to determine the vapour pressure of volatile non-viscous Petroleum products except liquified petroleum gases. The Vapour pressure is made up of brass heavily Chronium plated and consists of an air chamber and a gasoline chamber of definite dimensions and volume ratio. A pressure gauge of required range is fitted above the air chamber. The joints are made leak proof by neoprene washers. The water bath used is of such dimensions that the vapour pressure bombs may be immersed to at least 1 inch above the air chamber and maintained at a constant temparature range upto 1000C plus minus 20C.
