(ALU is a 24 pin IC chip that has a complexity of 75 equivalent gates, It is perhaps the first large scale integrated circuit (LCI). You can perform (a) Arithmetic operations addition and subtraction of 4 bit binary words, (b) 5 logic functions (AND, OR, NAND, OR, EXCLUSIVE-NOR), (c) 4 combined Arithmetic/Logic operations (4-bit magnitude comparator, etc) This is a very important experiment to understand some of the basics of arithmetic functions and Logic functions of microprocessors. Switches are provided as Inputs. LEDs are provided as output to monitor the binary outputs. 7 segment display with decoder is also provided.
