| Light and heat – where would we be without them? Not alive on our wonderful earth, that is certain. But how do we use the light from the sun? How is it absorbed, reflected, heated, and conducted? These abstract concepts can be demonstrated and studied with the few simple materials in our clever kit. Measure the temperature inside a dark bottle and a shiny bright bottle to determine the different ways light and heat are absorbed and radiated. Fill both bottles with water – one with hot, one with cold – and connect them with the metal bar. Observe how the temperature of the water changes. |
